From AI Failure to Fix: Can We Make AI Recruitment Trustworthy?
Trust Dialogues :From AI Failure to Fix: Can We Make AI Recruitment Trustworthy? Date: Friday, 20 November 2026 Time: 6:30–8:00 PM IST Format: Online Interactive Workshop Organisers: GAIDYN × Flarebox #About the Session What happens when an AI system makes a decision that harms people? In the first episode of Trust Dialogues, we explored who should be held responsible when AI goes wrong. In Episode 02, we move from discussion to action. Participants will investigate a fictional AI recruitment incident in which a hiring system unfairly rejects qualified candidates and raises concerns about the handling of personal data. Working in interdisciplinary teams, participants will examine the evidence, distinguish facts from assumptions, identify potential risks, explore possible causes, and propose practical safeguards. No advanced AI expertise is required. We welcome students interested in technology, cybersecurity, law, business, management, and responsible innovation. # What Will You Do? - Investigate an AI incident using a structured case study. - Separate verified facts from assumptions. - Examine technical, security, privacy, and organisational risks. - Develop recommendations to address the incident. - Present your team's proposed safeguards. - Explore opportunities to participate in follow-on student research and innovation projects. # What Will You Gain? Experience how professionals from different disciplines approach the same AI failure. Learn how to structure an investigation, evaluate evidence, identify risks, and develop recommendations for more trustworthy AI systems. # Who Should Participate? - College students interested in AI and emerging technologies. - Computer science and cybersecurity students. - Law students interested in technology and privacy. - Business and management students. - Aspiring researchers and AI builders. - Anyone interested in the responsible development and use of AI. # What Happens After the Event? Participants interested in continuing the work may be invited to join a student-led research and development pilot. The proposed follow-on initiative will explore whether a simple AI-assisted investigation tool can help people analyse simulated AI incidents and document evidence-based recommendations. Participation in the follow-on project will be optional and subject to a separate scope and team agreement. # Our Purpose Trustworthy AI requires more than technical innovation. It requires people who can understand risks, challenge assumptions, investigate failures, and work across disciplines to develop better solutions. Trust Dialogues brings students and industry perspectives together to explore these challenges. Join the conversation. Investigate the problem. Help design a better solution.
